The Newtown State School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) strives to:

  • support the Newtown State School to deliver its vision “Every Day, Every Child, Excellence in Education”, and

  • connect the school and broader Newtown community to enhance the whole school experience.

The P&C Association works in conjunction with the Newtown State School Principal and staff, and on behalf of the broader school community to deliver objectives as outlined in the P&C Strategic Plan. A good school greatly depends on an active and interested Association.

The philosophy of the Newtown State School P&C is that all parents have something to offer, and something to gain, from being involved with the life of the school. We strongly believe that all parents are equally valuable, and that every contribution, whether it’s helping at tuckshop or lobbying politicians, is equally important.

Meetings

General Meetings of the Newtown State School P&C are held each second Tuesday in the month from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm in the Resource Centre (library). Reports are emailed to all members prior to the meeting and a hard copy is available to reading from 6.15 pm.

Attending a meeting

If you’d prefer, just come to a meeting – you don't have to join, but it can be a rewarding experience! Everyone is welcome! You do have to be a member to vote on any motions.

How to become a member

All parents and carers at Newtown State School can be members of the Newtown State School P&C. Members receive newsletters, minutes of meetings and other information via email. To become a member of our P&C, please print the Membership Application form and bring it to the next meeting.
