The Newtown State School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) operates a fully accredited and licensed outside school hours care service (OSHC) which welcomes students from prep through to year 6 both before and after school on school days. Based in the school’s small hall on the corner of Albert and Clairmont Streets, Newtown OSHC also conducts whole day vacation care programs during school holiday periods. Outside school hours care programs operate independently from the school and are accessed on a fee paying basis by parents.
The OSHC employs a qualified coordinator and staff who plan an engaging and age-appropriate program. Children who attend do a mixture of craft, outdoor play and attend excursions. The activity program is less structured than school, as the service aims to create a home-like and relaxed atmosphere.
Hours of operation
Monday to Friday, during the school term.
Before school: 6.00 am to 8.30 am
After school: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm
During vacations: 6.00 am to 6.00 pm
