At Newtown State School, our dedicated team of staff deliver the Australian Curriculum using evidence-based teaching practices. The Australian Curriculum sets the goal for what all students should learn as they progress through their school life – wherever they live in Australia and whichever school they attend.
The Curriculum into the Classroom (C2C) resource is utilised to support implementation of the Australian Curriculum.
The Australian Curriculum is organised into learning areas, general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities. The table below provides an overview of Learning Areas delivered as well as the strands that are covered. More detailed information on the Australian Curriculum website.
Each term, teaching staff provide families with a term overview. This is known as the Class Comms and outlines the curriculum being taught for that term. Our parents are always encouraged to support and be involved in the curriculum being delivered to their child. Class Comms can be downloaded from the Support and Resources (Documents) section of this website.
